POSITION OVERVIEW:
The Small Groups Director is responsible for the day-to-day leadership of the church’s small group ministry. You are responsible for ensuring that the congregation is “finding their people” and creating spiritual families through a strong, healthy, and growing small group ministry. This includes development and execution of an annual growth plan, group leader identification and recruitment, small group curriculum, semi-annual small group engagement campaigns, and ongoing enlistment, development, and coaching of small group leaders.
The win for this role is a consistently growing number of small groups, small group membership, and small group leaders, such that being part of a small group spiritual family is in grained in the DNA of the church.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES / RESPONSIBILITIES
● Function as the overal “leader of the leaders”, supporting and equipping your small group coaches who in turn support and equip the small group leaders assigned to them.
● Train small group leaders to lead healthy groups that exhibit vulnerability, accountability, application of Scripture, guidance, and spiritual family.
● Lead the church into semester-over-semester increase in the number of small groups and the number of people engaged in small group life.
● Utilizing the church’s “layers of leadership” structure, create and support a robust lay leadership team. The goal here is to build a leadership structure that ensures the development and growth of a strong small group ministry.
● Develop and maintain an annual growth plan that ensures continuous small group improvement and growth. Within this larger plan, design and implement small group leader recruitment plans that will ensure a healthy small groups growth rate over time.
● Within larger “gathering” events, ensure that strategies are included which will connect event participants with small groups. Gathering events should always also be viewed as an opportunity to introduce participants to small group life.
● Plan and execute regular small group leader training and recognition events, ensuring the existence of a healthy body of small group leaders.
● Create promotional materials and methods that ensure everyone at the church is aware of the small group ministry area, its purpose and importance, and how to get connected. OTHER RESPONSIBILITIES:
● Engage when requested in a more global leadership role, including performing baptism services, weddings, funerals, sitting in when requested in Lead Team meetings, etc.
● Assist in the development of an annual departmental budget and manage spending to budget for your specific area of responsibility.
● Serve a member of the Pastor/Director on-call rotation.
● Perform other duties as assigned. Together, we help one another succeed. QUALIFICATIONS / REQUIREMENTS:
● A mature,Spirit-filled Christian.
● Highly relational (you love people and have a pastoral and shepherding heart).
● You are (or become) adept in the Focus 412 model for leadership development and structure.
● You are (or become)adept in the use of Planning Center.
● You are a “builder of builders”.
● Ability to create teams and recruit and retain team members.
● Able to effectively manage systems and structures.
● You are a self-starter and take the initiative when something needs to get done.
● Strong oral and written communication skills.
● Sound judgment anddecision-making ability.
● You are creative.
● You have a teachable spirit.
● You are a problem-solver (and a problem preventer).
● You understand the importance of confidentiality.
● Technologicaly adept.
● Organized.

EDUCATION REQUIREMENT:
A bachelor’s degree is required.
PROFESSIONAL / WORK EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
5+ years in a similar role.
PHYSICAL DEMAND REQUIREMENTS:
Able to physically perform the duties outlined above.
