ROLE OVERVIEW
The Ministries Associate Director will support the Connection and Leadership Development Director. Specifically, this individual will serve an integral role as the Church continues to lead people to “find their people, find their place, and make a difference”. This will be accomplished as we lead church members through Next Step classes, serving on Dream Teams, engaging in small group life, and developing as growing and effective leaders.
The “win” for this position is being a team member that the Connection and Leadership Development Director can trust to a) effectively lead and manage high-level assignments; b) encourage and support Dream Team growth and health; c) creatively and strategically support the Director’s direction and vision; and d) thrive in a fast-paced and excellence-committed environment.
This is a multi-faceted position that additionally requires organizational skills, administration, and communication, all performed at a very high level.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES / RESPONSIBILITIES:
Next Steps/Dream Teams
You will act as the primary team member in organizing all aspects of the scheduled Next Steps classes (currently, the monthly Membership class and the monthly Connection class). For Next Steps classes you will handle calendar management, reservations (for participants and related childcare), meals, curriculum, day-of setup and teardown, and any other actions necessary to make these classes productive and excellent.
You will also be responsible for acting as the staff liaison with the following four Dream Teams: a) Coffee; b) Ushers; c) Parking; and d) Welcome. Your role here is to ensure that these teams are healthy and effective, and that the Coaches for these teams know that they are valued, listened to, and cared for.
You will also be responsible for tracking “movement” of all individuals who attend one or both Next Step classes, ensuring that every ministry area is quickly and effectively moving candidates through their respective workflows, integrating volunteers into “finding their place”.
Leadership Development
In this area you will serve as the second-in-command to the Director. Maintaining organizational charts, rosters and team-by-team information, you will also support the Director in their efforts and initiatives to build a vibrant leadership pipeline. Over time, leaders and leaders-to-be in the church will learn to look to you as someone who can assist them in fulfilling their roles and responsibilities.
Special Events and Training
Act as the liaison between your department and other areas of ministry when there is a church-wide event. This specifically includes supporting the semi-annual small group campaigns, small group leader training, the semi-annual Dream Team Rally, and individual Dream Team gatherings.
Support all classes and training events under the leadership of your Director by managing the details related to those events.
