POSITION OVERVIEW:
The Southstone Kids Curriculum Coordinator will support the spiritual growth of the children entrusted to Southstone Church. The primary way that this will be accomplished is through utilizing creative and administrative talents to edit, tailor and prep curriculum and classroom teaching materials for children ages birth – 6th grade. This curriculum and related classroom materials will help ensure a consistently excellent weekend experience, where children are discipled and instructed at an age appropriate level to develop a lifelong relationship with Jesus. The “win” for this position is a teaching environment where children are engaged in a vibrant and lifelong journey with Jesus.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES / RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Support, through words and actions, the Vision of Southstone Church.
- Provide vision and direction to all aspects of Southstone Kids curriculum.
- Using the Orange curriculum as a foundation; plan, edit and/or re-write Southstone Kids curriculum to meet the vision of the ministry. Ensure that all curriculum and supporting materials are Biblical, focused, and age appropriate.
- Creatively plan and implement teaching support materials that bring the weekly lesson plan to life and to make each week engaging and memorable.
- Maintain the Curriculum account/subscription
- Maintain the supply inventory, including ordering all supplies needed for curriculum activities. Weekly supplies should be available for preparation by Tuesday Morning of each week.
- Communicate lessons, lesson plans, video links, and slides with Kids staff, Kids leadership, and dream team members weekly through Mailchimp and planning center, and Google Docs folder as appropriate by Wednesday of each week
- Select and upload worship music that enriches the weekly curriculum into all classroom computers. Collaborate with the Elementary coordinator weekly so that the Kids worship team receives the music for practice in a timely manner.
- Collaborate directly with the preschool and elementary coordinators to ensure that classrooms are fully prepped and ready before the start of each service hour.
- Follow, research, and discuss with your supervisor cutting-edge curriculum ideas and innovations.
- Assess the effectiveness of Southstone Kids curriculum through feedback from staff, volunteers, and through regular in the classroom observation.
- Build, run, and equip a weekly/semi-weekly prep team (Action Ladies) to ensure successful completion of necessary tasks and materials needed to facilitate Saturday and Sunday programming.
- Recruit, train, and schedule curriculum prep volunteers as needed/appropriate.
- Consistently invest in, and minister to, the curriculum volunteers through prayer and team-building events. Regularly assess volunteer capacity and “health”, and bring to your direct supervisor any concerns, needs or opportunities.
- Help plan and implement other Southstone Kids ministry events (Christmas Eve, Easter, Summer Events, etc.).
- With your supervisor, develop a work schedule that includes regular participation in the Saturday and Sunday Southstone Kids worship experience and weekly collaboration meetings.
- Participate in other Southstone Church meetings & projects as assigned by your supervisor.
- Live a life of service to the Southstone Church staff and church members.
- Consistently live, foster, and support the Southstone Church culture and help others do the same by way of leadership example and equipping those entrusted to your leadership.
- Maintain a vital and growing relationship with Christ through Bible study, prayer, worship, retreats, etc.

OTHER REQUIREMENTS:
- A mature Spirit-filled Christian.
- Flexibility (you can go with the flow).
- You are (or become) adept in use of Planning Center
- Highly relational (you love people – especially children - and have a pastoral and shepherding heart).
- Ability to create teams and recruit and retain team members.
- Strong communication skills.

PROFESSIONAL / WORK EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
- 3+ years of direct experience in curriculum or a related ministry role.
